Getting About

Getting about within the Loch Rannoch area is easy with the new Demand Responsive Transport Service (DRT2) this service is a new on-demand transport service operating in the Kinloch Rannoch to Rannoch Station area, provided by two local taxi/private hire car (PHC) operators. Fares are equivalent to bus fares and are free for bus pass holders. Journeys must be booked ahead. A DRT taxi can pick you up and drop you off where you want within the prescribed area.

Highland Travel are DRT2 operators as well as offering airport transfer, sightseeing and guided tours in English or German. On request they can transport your luggage from A to B. If you wish to combine a days cycling and walking they will deliver or collect your bicycles to suit your needs.

There is a regular bus service between Kinloch Rannoch and Pitlochry operated by Elizabeth Yule, the timetable is available HERE to download.

Trains are available from Rannoch Station which has a lovely tea room (closed in winter) where you can join the West Highland line from Glasgow to Mallaig, the journey to Mallaig has been voted one of the most scenic railway journeys in the world. To know more about the timetable click HERE
